I am an International Student from South Africa who has recently Graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia. I was recruited to the Women’s Rowing team and will be transferring to the Syracuse women’s rowing team where I will complete a Masters in Magazine, News and Digital Journalism with a focus on Graphic Design. Being an athlete all my life, I’ve learned the values of teamwork, discipline and dedication which has afforded me the opportunities to move to the United States, complete an Undergraduate degree and work towards a Masters degree. My long-term goals are to remain in the United States, working in Graphic Design and whilst at Syracuse explore all facets of the Journalism career. This final semester I am working more behind than scenes as I shifted from writing and reporting to design. It’s amazing to see how passion can translate and shift when surrounded by opportunity! I will graduate with my MA in May of this year and look forward to any opportunities in graphic design full-time in the US thereafter.
