Jon Glass
Jon Glass’ experience in the digital news realm spans more than three decades from launching dozens of media websites to remaining at the forefront of social media, technology and storytelling practices. Glass teaches the Digital News & Innovation and Digital News Leadership courses that focus on current industry issues and multi-platform content development as well as producing the TheNewsHouse.com, a student-run news, sports and entertainment outlet for the Syracuse University community. In recent years, Glass has led award-winning school-wide reporting projects for student journalists to explore topics such as U.S.-Canada relations, marijuana legalization and social and inequity issues in central New York. Glass has taught graduate students with the Newhouse School's online communications M.S. program since 2015, including the Social Media for Communicators course. He joined Newhouse in 2007 as the school’s Collaborative Media Room general manager. Previously, Glass was the online content director for PalmBeachPost.com, where he spent 11 years in the newsroom and online departments. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a B.S. in journalism with a minor in education.
